Join PFLAG Sussex County on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Sparta United Methodist Church for an engaging and informative panel discussion focused on mental health, resilience, and building a strong support system. This special event will bring together a panel of mental health professionals to share their expertise and answer questions from our community in a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment.
Finding the right therapist can be an important step in supporting your mental health, and knowing how to advocate for yourself is an essential part of that journey. During this discussion, our panelists will explore topics such as being your own best advocate, asking the right questions to find the right therapeutic fit, recognizing green flags and red flags when choosing a therapist, staying grounded while navigating today's news and current events, building healthy coping strategies, and accessing mental health resources.
Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance through our Google Form, helping shape a discussion that reflects the interests and needs of our community. Whether you're seeking guidance for yourself, supporting a loved one, looking for a therapist, or simply hoping to learn more about mental wellness, this conversation offers an opportunity to gain practical insights from experienced professionals while connecting with others in a safe and supportive space.
All are welcome—LGBTQ+ individuals, family members, friends, and allies. Join us for an evening of thoughtful conversation, education, and community as we explore ways to care for ourselves and one another.
